The timber used on our table and bench sets is naturally grown which is much harder, heavier, more solid and durable than the plantation grown wood that tends to be used in the furniture industry.   We use thick slabs of wood that come from large old trees on our table tops, because they are very stable, last a lifetime, are very scarce and sought after and cannot be bought anywhere else.  Our wood  is hand-picked for its character and is generally very rustic and knotty.  We use mainly saligna, pine and oak as well as indigenous woods like kiaat and mingerhout.  A great investment in any home!
