Marius Pels
Born and bred in Springs, he obtained his BCom at
Tukkies, and Honours and MBL at Unisa.
He started his career in accounting at Anglo American,
and later became Financial Planner to Total and Nissan. He then joined Infoplan in 1979 as
Corporate Planner, and this is where he later moved across to IT.
Marius was part of a team who developed (and implemented)
a methodology to develop long term IT plans and strategies for companies (called Master
System Plans - MSP). He was during his career responsible for the development of numerous
such strategies as well as generic corporate strategies for government departments and
private sector companies.
Marius joined Data Trust in May 1985, and was responsible
for MSP's initially, and later as Accounts Manager. He became a Director of Data Trust in
1988 and joined the Q Data Board in 1991.
Marius has developed and managed three divisions in his
previous capacity namely the Pretoria Private Sector, the Banking Division and finally the
International Consulting Division.
He joined Brainware in April 1998 as Managing Director of
Brainware Consulting and has a goal to grow consulting to become the backbone of the
Brainware Group.
He is married to Mari and has three daughters. |
