We have launched a maintenance division, which specialises in the provision of maintenance contracts for electric fencing and any electronic equipment exposed to the outdoors.

Electric Fencing Maintenance

  • The maintenance contract is a monthly fee which therefore allows the complex to
    budget accurately for the year.
  • The complex will be visited regularly by senior management and any industry improvements will be brought to the committee’s attention and quoted for respectively.
  • FSC installs a GSM module which SMS’s the signals to the trustees and to our offices to ensure that we are made aware of any problems as soon as possible. This allows us to have a proactive approach eliminating the
    human error factor as far as possible.
    The client will need to supply the sim card and keep it topped up with air time.
  • Under the maintenance agreement the client is covered for the following:
    • Any act of God including lightning damage but excluding veld fires.
    • Wear and tear.
    • Service calls.
    • Parts.
  • The maintenance contract consists of the following functions:
    • Two mandatory site inspections per month.
    • During these inspections the following is carried out:
      • Voltage tests on all four corners of the complex on a minimum of three wires per side and recording the readings.
      • Testing of signal transmission to the clients elected Response Company and recording the OB entry from the armed response company as reception proof.
      • Inspection of the wiring, poles and tensioners.
      • Cutting of foliage.
      • A maintenance document is then completed and left for the client’s perusal.
      • Each maintenance document is then checked on two levels, signed off within the company and filed if given a clean bill of health.
      • Should a fence fail a service team is booked to take remedial action.
  • The following are excluded from the coverage enjoyed under the maintenance agreement:
    • Intentional cuts of the wiring.
    • Intentional damage.
    • Calls outside of business hours being Monday to Friday 08:00 to 17:00.
  • Performance levels are as follows:
    • All signals received before 10am will be attended to the same day.
    • Signals received after 10am will be attended to the following day
