 The most compact external reader, with secure PIN code entry

The GemAccess608 is a contactless smart-card reader that was specifically designed for physical access control. It is suitable for indoor or outdoor installation. The GemAccess608 unit can easily be mounted on walls (even on metal objects, without any effect on operating distance). These readers have LED indicator lights and a buzzer, making it easy to interface  with conventional access-control systems. Since data can be written into the contactless card, many extra functions can be added  beyond simple access control.

The GemAccess 608 offers a high degree of security, both for read and write operations, supporting multiple applications on a single card.

Simple and flexible

Simply holding your card within a few inches of the GemAccess608 will open any door. With no more fuss, you can implement payment functions for vending machines or canteens, and manage time and attendance. In the most advanced applications, the GemAccess608 becomes an individualized information channel, by interfacing with a "kiosk" system.

New applications are added in stages, with no need to change the reader. This makes GemAccess608 the most flexible reader for future upgrades.

Contactless is best

Contactless is the best technology  for access control. Contactless   means there is no physical contact between the card and the reader: The card goes immediately into action when it is within a few inches of the reader. Data is exchanged at high speed over a radio frequency signal. This is the most ergonomic card for users and is thus the most easily accepted. Contactless-card technology means less vandalism, no wear   and minimal maintenance.

• High security (ISO 9798-2): mutual card-reader authentication and data encryption based on secret-key recognition, plus each card has a unique, permanent serial number

• Multiapplication capacity: card-memory structure has independent sectors, each with specific secret keys, allowing several secure applications on a single card.

• Tamper relay to detect opening of the case.
