Image Stabilising System
The system constantly monitors signals from the Drum Electric Potential Sensor, AIDC
sensor, Internal Temperature and Humidity Sensor, and other sensors, along with document
information from the scanner. This information is processed by the 32-bit central
processing unit (CPU) to flexibly control parameters for copying and laser emissions.
Stable copy quality is thus maintained even for high-volume copying.
Area Type Detection
Edge compensation in text areas provides sharp letters free from colour contamination,
while photo areas reproduce with smooth colour gradations. The machine chooses between
standard LIMOS and Screen LIMOS depending on the characteristics of
the original to broaden the range of available image reproduction.
Two copy quality adjustment modes
Basic Adjustment Mode - for general users desiring quick and easy document revisions
Professional Adjustment Mode - allows fine-tuning of copy quality
Test
Print Function sample printout
A single sheet can be printed showing seven different copy results combining any of the
characteristics adjustable with the Basic Adjustment Mode, as well as certain Professional
Adjustment Mode controls: Hue, Saturation, Brightness, Sharp-ness, Contrast and Density.
Pick your desired sample from the test print, locate your choice on the LCD panel, then
simply print it. The reduction in experimental copying is remarkable.
Copy Paper Take-Up Double Retry function
This function ensures that if a sheet of paper is not fed properly the first time, it will
be re-fed two more times.
Delicate
Document Feeding
This setting allows you to set it so that the grade of the document delivery through the
copier is increased for a more delicate feed of important originals.
Cover Mode
Using the multiple sheet bypass, you can copy onto odd sized or coloured paper, allowing
you to create distinctive cover pages for presentation documents.
Dual-original copying
In conjunction with the Document Feeder, this allows you to copy a 2 page original side by
side onto one sheet. This makes document carrying more compact, and is a great way to
conserve paper.
Automatic Duplex Copying
Two-paged originals can be copied onto both sides of one sheet of paper with the Duplex
Unit and the Duplex Document Feeder.
Interruption capability
Interrupt one copying job for other, more immediate copying needs.
Mixed original mode
Set down a mixture of standard size A3 to B5 originals and press Mixed Original Mode. The
copier reads each original size and copies it as such.
Insertion Mode
Using the multiple sheet bypass, you can copy onto odd sized or coloured paper, allowing
you to create distinctive dividers for presentation documents
Erase Modes
At the time of copy, you can erase your whole document frame, right side, left-side, top,
centre or both centre and frame. You can therefore easily erase the shadows that often
appear when copying from books.
Large LCD Touch Panel
An interactive Touch Panel Message Display which has interactive guidance messages.
Departmental
control
Automatically tracks copy information for up to 100 departments and tallies office paper
consumption.
Document
Pressure Auto Switching Lever
Originals are prevented from smearing by automatic pressure adjustment of Document
Pressure Pad contingent upon size of originals.
Recycling
Document Feeder
Minolta's Recycling Document Feeder activates the circulating mechanism when continuously
copying and sorting 21 or more sets of copies.
Automatic Stacking Function
The stacking function is able to be set on repeat operation to continue sorting 21 or more
sets of copies for grouping, stapling or hole-punching. The function transfers the sorted
copies from the sorter bin to the non sort-bin. This eliminates the necessity to rest
drafts or manually remove copies from he sorter bin, thus greatly increasing efficiency.
Auto Original Count and Re-set
This facilitates Dual Original Copying or Duplex Copies of single-sided originals by
determining whether the number of originals is odd or even, and resets itself accordingly
before resuming copying.
LIMOS (
Laser Intensity Modulation)
This digital colour breakthrough by Minolta, is one of the
strongest reasons for choosing the CF900 over anything else in its class.
Heres how it works. Minolta has created two types of
LIMOS - SCREEN LIMOS which improves continuous tone images and standard LIMOS which
concentrates on sharper edges. The CF900 constantly and automatically senses the nature of
the original and selects the LIMOS technology best suited to the document. Other copiers
vary the colour intensity by using an intermittent laser signal, whereas
Minoltas LIMOS modifies the colour intensity of each and every pixel - a
unique refinement unmatched in the marketplace.
POSTSCRIPT LEVEL 2
FULL COLOUR LASER PRINTER AND SCANNER
By using the optional colour servers or Fiery controllers,
you can connect your CF900 to your computer network and increase the productivity and
versatility enabling full colour laser printing and network scanning. The Fiery series of
controllers employ 64-bit RISC Central Processing Units and PostScript Level 2, providing
full-colour, high-quality images in 400 dpi output, at very high-speed.
Connects to AppleMac, PC (Windows 95, 3.1X, NTx) or UNIX
workstations using AppleTalk, TCP/IP and IPX/SPX protocols. Compatible with multiple file
formats, desktop publishing programs and presentation software capable of printing to a
PostScript laser printer
