The
distribution department handles approximately 80% of the sales
at Prominent Paints. Willie
Viljoen is the Head Controller assisted by Samuel Mutsenga. Louis van der Merwe is the warehouse manager and also helps
with control. There
are seven packers, consigned to different areas.
Our fleet consists of eleven delivery vehicles, each with
its own driver and delivery assistant.
The distribution department handles approximately 200 orders
per day, which are up to 12000 individual items.
Prominent delivery trucks travel around 60 000 kilometres per
month on deliveries and we visit places as far afield as
Kimberely, Pietersburg, Mmabatho, Bloemfontein and Nelspruit.
Almost 75%
of orders are only placed after12pm the day
before, or the morning of, the delivery.
If one looks at the extraordinary impact of this
service, one has to realise that deliveries to every customer on
a daily basis is a mammoth task.
The department is therefore looking at a more efficient
way of coping with the ever increasing demand for our quality
products.
