Religious and Cultural Committee
SHPSS - RELIGIOUS AND CULTURAL COMMITTEE
The Hindu philosophy is the central theme of the Religious and Cultural Committee. Therefore, the celebration of inculcated festivals, practices and praises of the Hindu religion will be promoted, amongst other, via: religious and spiritual talks by renowned personalities; dissemination of relevant literature; Hosting and coordinating of Bhajan, Kirtan and satsang; Promoting healthy living and ayurvedic practices; Incorporating and guiding youth of the community towards enlightenment of the Hindu Dharma; Providing continuous & all encompassing education including Yoga, meditation, music, musical instruments, dance, stage activities, etc.; Introduce new and innovative ideas and concepts to enhance the understanding of the dharma.

Vision 1
1.Promoting education on Hindu Philosophy
2.Celebrating religious & cultural festivals
3.Dissemination of Hindu Religious and Cultural information
4.Inviting religious & spiritual personalities for satsang
Vision 2
1.Include the participation of the various Hindu Associations
Vision 3
1.Continuing education of Hindu Dharma inclusive of Yoga, Meditation, music, musical instruments, dance and stage activities
2.Increase the number of active participants in the R&C committee
3.Introduce new ideas and concepts to enhance Hindu religious and cultural activities
4.Rotate activities amongst active members of the R&C committee
5.Constantly review and revise existing vision, mission, strategy and action plans
6.Enhance communication activities

1.Ensure youth participation in all of the above statements
2.Delegate responsibilities to the youth and incorporate them into the RCC
3.Guide the youth towards enlightenment
The committee envisages, as a priority, to incorporate the participation of the various existing Hindu associations within the community under the theme “Unity in Diversity”.
It further seeks to build a spiritually healthy Hindu society by:
Increasing the number of active participants;
Encouraging the rotation of activities amongst the committee’s active membership;
Constantly review and revise its methodology of approach;
Delegate responsibility to the youth; and
Enhance their communication strategies.
