Technical Features of TFA ear tags
TFA ear tags are manufacturing from high quality, UV resistant, PVC
polymer, plasticiser, HMF stabiliser and colour pigments. They possess a tensile strength of 13.9 Mpa and an elongation percentage of 319.6 in terms of SA Bureau of Standards test methods 507 and 504. TFA ear tags remain flexible at temperature ranges from -45 C (Cold Bend: SABS Method 501) to +150 C (Heat Shock: SABS Method 500). Each TFA ear tag has medical field approval from the CSIR. The pin and holder mechanism provides for easy fitting with tensile strength of 25kg breaking power. TFA tags are available with Laser and Bar Code printing or RFID microchip to enable linkage with electronic database management.

TFA's marking pen provides a blend of ink and chemicals that burn a permanent marking into the ear so that identification markings are never lost. Owing to the high quality, flexible materials used the TFA can never crack, split or tear away and can withstand the severe thermal and solar conditions present in Africa for many years. Available in 9 colours plus customised colours as specified by clients for orders of 10 000 tags or more. RFID microchip enables faster counting of large herds and better accuracy through electronic management.
