writing. Such notifications must be signed and dated, and include your Voyager membership

fax and telephone requests for name and address changes will not be accepted.
- The following tickets are not eligible for earning miles:

your flight with South African Airways, and up to 45 days from the day of your hotel stay
or car rental, or if your flight was at an international point not staffed by South
African Airways, or with a programme airline partner.

documents/car rental contract.
- Any activity prior to the 90 days cut off period will not be considered for credit.
South African Airways and Voyager Airline Partners
- Mileage accumulation is based on flown miles as established by South African Airways and
the Voyager programme partners. On airlines other than Ansett Australia, British Midland
and Lufthansa, Voyager miles may be earned by accumulating a minimum of 500 miles or
actual flight miles, whichever is the greater. However, on heavily discounted fares on
South African Airways, South African Express Airways and South African Airlink ('T' and
'V' on international flights and 'H' and 'L' on domestic flights), mileage accumulation is
based on 50% of the actual miles flown, with a minimum of 250 miles.
- Ansett Australia has no minimum mileage.
- British Midland awards a flat 500 and 250 Voyager miles respectively for UK Domestic
travel, and 750 and 250 Voyager miles respectively for travel between Europe/UK and
Mediterranean Europe/UK.
- Lufthansa awards 100% of actual miles flown on flights between Germany and South Africa.
On all other routes the award is 100% for First and Business Class travel and 75% for

- First Class - 'F'
- Business Class - 'C' and 'D'
- Economy Class - 'H' , 'B' , 'L' , 'G' , 'Y' and 'T'

travelling on a ticket purchased at any individual, adult published fare. A flown segment
means any flight which requires a separate ticket coupon.
- On direct through-flights that make one or more stops (but have the same flight number),
miles will be credited for the non-stop point of departure to destination.
- >Miles can be accumulated only once per flight, regardless of the number of seats
purchased, and you must actually fly as a passenger to receive credit.
- You can receive up to a maximum of 300% of the base miles per flight segment, including
actual miles of the route and any applicable bonus.
- To make sure you receive mileage credit on all your flights - and that your Voyager
membership number becomes a part of your record - you must give this membership number to
the South African Airways reservation agent, or your travel agent, when you book your
tickets. It is also good practice to confirm your number when collecting your tickets and
on check-in at the airport.
- Where another airline handles South African Airways, be sure to advise the reservation
agent and the airport counter agent of your membership number when you check in.
- Only Base miles earned on South African Airways, South African Express Airways and South

- These bonuses are not accumulated when you are travelling on an upgrade as an Award, a
free ticket on First 'F' or Business 'J' Class.
- You'll be given mileage credit for cancelled South African Airways flights, provided you
already have your flight ticket and the flight is cancelled the day of departure, except
when the cancellation is for any circumstance beyond the control of South African Airways,
including but not limited to: weather, earthquake, fire, labour stoppages/strikes, civil
unrest, closed airport.
- If you are transferred to another South African Airways flight you will be given only
the corresponding mileage of the new flight.
- In the event of being involuntarily transferred to another airline not affiliated with
Voyager you can request the corresponding miles of the original South African Airways
flight, provided the cancellation was due to condition within the control of South African
Airways including mechanical, crew and similar situations. In this circumstance, send to
your nearest Voyager Service Centre a brief description of the incident, with a copy of
your passenger receipts and the original boarding pass of your flight. Voyager Base miles
will still be earned.
