PRODUCT OVERVIEW
PERFORMANCE
The MECER SILVER server platform brings the power of the
Pentium II processor to the entry-level server marketplace.
The server is available initially with either 266MHz or 300MHz
single or dual Pentium II processors, with 512K L2 cache.
The baseboard incorporates the latest PCI I/O technology, including
built-in support for 10/100 mbit Ethernet, 40 MB/sec Ultra-wide
SCSI and SVGA graphics.
SCALABILITY
Extensive configurability gives you plenty of options for
tailoring systems to meet a wide range of customer
requirements. Storage capability includes a 5-drive
bay, as well as an IDE CD-ROM drive and 1.44MB floppy
drive. Two additional bays are available for removable
media drives. The speed, accuracy and capacity to run
demanding server applications are provided by up to 512MB
of ECC SDRAM. Five open slots let you configure a full
complement of four PCI add-ins and offer support for a
legacy ISA add-in card.
RELIABILITY
As a purpose-built server, the MECER SILVER server goes
beyond desktop-level manageability and security with features
designed to keep vital servers and running efficiently 24
hours a day. A 275 watt power supply supports a robust
configuration of add-ins and includes Power Factor Correction
to foster efficient power utilization.
MANAGEMENT AND SECURITY
The board and chassis are fully instrumented to
communicate via the industry-standard Desktop Management
Interface (DMI) protocol, making a wealth of data available
to leading system-wide management and security applications.
The SILVER incorporates the award winning Intel
LanDesk Server Manager software, allowing LAN managers
to reduce supports costs and increase system up time. An
optional server monitoring module adds emergency management
capabilities over telephone lines and is accessible even if
the server is powered down.
