Paint Preparation Steps
Exterior Plastered / Painted Walls
Stripping / Cleaning
Exterior plastered surfaces to be hydro blasted to remove all dirt, loose and friable paint and defective plaster. Hydro blasting will also intensively clean surfaces in preparation for remedial surface renovation. Cracks are opened up and exposed so that treatment can be undertaken.
Crack Preparations and Repairs
All exposed cracks are cleaned and then primed with Plascon Plaster Primer to give controlled penetration and excellent binding to chalky and friable surfaces, resulting in a sound surface to apply resin-based flexible filler. After cracks are filled with resin-based flexible filler, the repaired cracks are then painted with Plascon Multiseal fibre reinforced waterproofing to bind the crack and protect it against all weather conditions.
Specialist Crack Repair
Joint cracks to be opened out, neatened off, primed and filled with fibre re-enforced acrylic filler. This will allow for movement within the crack. Crack repair to be matched to existing plaster finish as far as possible so that repair work cannot be seen.
Waterproofing of Parapet Walls
All parapet walls will be cleaned and treated with 3 coats Plascon Multiseal fibre reinforced waterproofing. Waterproofing will be painted 50mm down either side of wall as well as on top of parapet.
